Q:
Sammie is undertaking a Degree course but she is running her own online business. Can her father still claim child relief of RM8,000?
A:
It depends on how much is Sammie earning from her online business. If her annual income is less than the child relief amount (i.e. RM 8,000), then her father is still eligible to claim the RM8,000 child relief.
Q:
If I am working for an Australian company in Malaysia but the salary is paid to my bank account in Australia in AUD currency. Is my income taxable in Malaysia?
A:
If you exercise the employment in Malaysia, then the income is derived from Malaysia and is taxable in Malaysia even though you do not receive the income in Malaysia.
